The hotel is about 10 minute ride from the airport and we had no traffic issues. We used the shuttle provided to travel back to the airport. NOTE that the shuttle is not available during particular morning hours dues to it's dedicated use for airline staff training.

Nathan's uncle and Mackenzie's great uncle, Marion "MH" Proffitt established that solid foundation. Began a funeral home in Bardstown, KY (M.H. Proffitt Funeral Home) with his wife, Deloris Proffitt, in the 1960's and served the community for over 20 years.
He has a daughter and son, Sarah Morris Howard and Joshua Morris (both of Winchester). In his spare time he enjoys traveling and NHRA/ IHRA/PDRA drag racing and occasionally a pit crew member for Don Hall Racing. Nathan and his wife, Connie Ball Morris, reside in Georgetown where Nathan is a Deputy Coroner and business owner. He is an active member of Central Church of Christ (Georgetown) and Georgetown Choral Society. Mackenzie is an active and lifelong member of the Overland Church of Christ (Lawrenceburg); he is also a member of the Rotary Club (Lawrenceburg Charter) where service over self is the motivation.

On May 1, 2015, Nathan Morris and his nephew, Mackenzie Morris, purchased the Saffell House from Mr. and Mrs. Wells with the intention of completely restoring and reopening the home to its former glory as a funeral home. By purchasing the building Nathan and Mackenzie also inherited an antique floor length mirror that was original to Cleveland Funeral Home in Mt. Eden. This mirror has found a permanent home at the Saffell House Funeral Home. It sits in our foyer as a reminder of the people before us, the history around us, and the future in front of us. Mackenzie is the son of Steve and Renee Whitehouse Morris, who are long time residents of Lawrenceburg.
The Huddlestons and the Sparrows worked in the original home of W.B. Saffell, but around 1956 the partners realized they needed more space. They added the huge chapel, and slowly added more living area on the second floor. He is a lifelong resident of Anderson County where he graduated High School in 1980 and is a member of the Sand Spring Baptist Church. Nathan has been serving the funeral industry for 20+ years. He is the lead Funeral Director at Saffell House Funeral Home, where he shares in the operations of the business.
Embalming sanitizes and preserves the body; it also slows down the decomposition process and enhances the appearance of the body damaged by traumatic death or illness. Embalming gives time to the family of the deceased to arrange a service, and allows the family the option of having an open-casket viewing. I recently used their services with the passing of my mother in August. The prices and services were wonderful and made this difficult time for our family so stress-free. I can't stress how thankful I am to La Funeral Services. It was at this time, the Saffell House was renovated into 7 beautiful apartments (three on the main floor and four on the second).
The position calls for training and credentials in psychology, social work, counseling or psychiatric nursing, but rather than providing treatment, the director will triage parishioners to the right places for help. In addition to being on the church campus at least two Sundays a month, he or she will be available to respond to crises at any time. The roots of Christ Church’s mental health ministry trace back to the 2008 recession. Realizing that many in the congregation were having their lives turned upside down, the church organized a Sunday morning forum called “The Wisdom of Contentment” and invited members to come and share their struggles out loud. And most significantly, the church has begun a search for a wellness director, a new full-time position that will focus on mental health as part of a holistic understanding of what it means to be well. Joan received her Masters of Divinity degree from the University of the South School of Theology at Sewanee. She has extensive experience in parish ministry, previously serving as the Rector of Trinity Episcopal Church in Statesboro, Georgia.

Along with that parish work, he served as a convocational dean, on the Commission on Ministry for the Diocese of Atlanta, and on the faculty for “Learning to Lead,” the diocesan class for clergy in new positions. Teaching, vocational discernment, and learning alongside others are important to his work. The remarkable generosity of our parish enabled an outpouring of care for others, including a massive food drive, a mask ministry and care partnerships with those who were isolated.
In 2020, a world in crisis called us into new ways of being the church. We continued doing what we’ve always done--worshipping, praying, learning, supporting one another and loving our neighbors--but creatively reimagined, with a lot of flexibility, patience and love. The first wellness director, when he or she is hired, will serve as an advocate, educator and navigator for the congregation. Kinghorn said he is moved by Christ Church taking the step, unusual among congregations, of creating a suicide support group. Summer Service Schedule (Begins May
Our commitment to racial justice and reconciliation was strengthened as we witnessed the pain of our sisters and brothers of color. Jesus is our savior, but we were also saved by technology this year! Christ Church is currently offering one online service of prayer, hymns and a sermon, each Sunday at 9 a.m. Church leaders describe the new position as a ministry of presence, charged with addressing the array of issues that contribute to a person’s health — mental and otherwise. Today, the church refers families to HopeWay, and the facility’s medical staff has spoken at the church. The congregation has supported HopeWay financially, Blue said — including a grant to bring in Theo, a therapy dog.

Writing is a passion of Allen's, whether for sermons, articles, or the short novel he's been trying to finish for a few years. He also loves listening to all kinds of music, and like just about everyone on the planet, "Ted Lasso" has become a favorite show. Ben has toured England, France, and the U.S. extensively with his choirs and as an organist. While at St. Peter’s he led the church through the design and acquisition of a new organ, C.B. He has served on the Board of Directors and led summer training courses for the Royal School of Church Music in America.

Coping with suicide hasn’t been the only struggle for parishioners. Personal experience with mental illness has prompted two church members to action. While the trend is too new to be reflected in hard numbers, mental health advocates and faith leaders say that a growing number of houses of worship across the nation are ministering to those with mental health challenges. Few have discerned the church’s call to nurture body, soul and mind as dramatically as Christ Church. After graduating from Yale and Furman Universities with degrees in organ performance and music theory, Ben came to North Carolina to serve as Organist and Choirmaster at First Presbyterian Church in Belmont. In 1992, he became Director of Music and Organist at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church where he was the Founding Director of The Choir School at St. Peter’s.
